Termarust TR2201 High Ratio Co-Polymerized Calcium Sulfonate Cable Seal is a non-pigmented high Ratio Reacted Alkaline Viscolastic Calcium Sulfonate coating, designed and engineered exclusively for sealing and penetrating wire rope strand.  

Uses
Termarust TR2201 High Ratio Co-Polymerized Calcium Sulfonate Cable Seal allows tremendous flexibility in surface profile and preparation. It is ideal for the reclamation and long term protection of bridge cables, tower cables, and any other type of strand were superior corrosion protection is required.

Surface preparation
All grease, oil, grime, and other contaminants must be removed from the surface using Termarust Formula 1X cleaner, commercial detergent or other suitable cleaning method (SSPC-SP1). Hand tool cleaning (SSPC-SP2), power tool cleaning (SSPC-SP3), or water jetting ( SSPC-SP12-WJ4), is sufficient preparation to produce excellent results, SSPC-SP6 or SSPC-SP12-WJ3 (LorM) is recommended for optimum corrosion resistance or immersion service. The prepared surface must be analyzed for chloride content. Upper limit is per SSPC SP12-SC2. (7 mg/sq. meter). 

Application
The Termarust TR2201 High Ratio Co-Polymerized Calcium Sulfonate Cable Seals should not be applied at temperatures below 2°+C or 35.5°+F with a steel temperature not less then 2°+C or 35.5°+F. There must be a 2° C or 5° F spread between temperature and dew point. To apply the coating the relative humidity should be no greater than 99% and the steel should be free of surface moisture. Maybe applied using pressure feed equipment or any excepted cable coating practice.

Shelf life
12 months minimum in original unopened container when stored in a protected area where the temperature is between 5°C and 30°C (41°F - 86°F).
Note: After 12 months verify the coating to see if a skin has formed. If a skin is present remove skin and mix the material. Before an open container is closed a thin layer of BT83 should be poured on top. This will retard any skinning. 

Safety precautions & regulatory data
Treat as flammable liquid - Flashpoint 42°C (108°F). Keep away from heat, open flame and sparks. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid prolonged breathing of vapor. Read label instructions carefully and refer to Material Safety Data Sheet supplied. This product is for industrial use only and is not intended for use in or around a household or dwelling.

Notes
Note: Termarust TR2201 High Ratio Co-Polymerized Calcium Sulfonate Cable Seal maybe applied below freezing (-18ºC or 0°F). This is not recommended unless steps are taken to control ice crystals on the steel before application. i.e. spot heating. Cold temperatures will slow the coating’s cure.
