Product description
Termazinc® TZ1100 is a fast dry, two component, air dry, zinc flake filled epoxy using Galvarust® proprietary zinc flake pigment technology. The product is specifically formulated to act as a primer for steel, tightly adhered contaminate free rust and for the rejuvenation of failing galvanized coatings. The unique combination of Galvarust® zinc flake pigment, resin and additives allow the coating to develop a very durable exposed surface along with cathodic protection for the steel substrate. The TZ1100 has excellent corrosion resistance equal to or better then zinc dust filled coatings with 3 times the amount of zinc by weight in them. The reduced amount of zinc metal used in Termazinc with Galvarust Technology and its benefits are becoming more widely known. Trials in heavy duty protective coatings proved that Galvarust Zinc Flake can give significant benefits. The very high proportion of zinc dust, necessary to achieve protection in traditional formulations, produced many problems.. The high zinc load used in traditional zinc coatings made necessary very low proportions of resin components creating poor, inflexible films.
Base zinc metal prices have greatly increased and the cost gap between zinc dust and zinc flake has closed, making the resulting coatings, cost effective. In addition potential environmental issues are being addressed, such as: Lower total zinc content which reduced handling problems which exist with traditional heavy coatings,
Lower welding/cutting fumes and lower VOC’s, in solvent-based and near zero in water-based coatings.

Uses
Termazinc TZ1100 may be used to overcoat tightly adhere contaminate free rust, prepared metal and galvanized structures. It maybe used for both industrial and residential structures producing substantial savings in coating costs.

Application
The Termazinc TZ1100 should be applied only when the air and product temperature is between 34ºF to 125ºF and the surface has been properly prepared. The surface temperature should not exceed 125°F during application.
